Welcome to Bures C.C.

Unfortunately on the evening of September 9th 2025, Bures CC iconic pavilion was burnt down. A pavilion that had stood in the centre of Bures for nearly 200 years, gone in a matter of hours, causing devastation to the community of Bures where multiple generations of families have played and enjoyed their cricket over the years.
A JustGiving page has been set up to assist with the rebuilding costs, please find the link below. Any donations, no matter how small, will be hugely appreciated.
DEVASTATING FIRE – A note from the President.
Chris Chambers on behalf Bures and District Cricket with the dedicated support of Club Chairman Chris Crace, Club Captain Carl Wright, Committee and Members wishes to thank everyone for their profound messages of support and shared disbelief of the apparent wilful destruction of our Pavilion. It has been a landmark building enjoyed so much by those using it and many observing its presence on a daily basis.
As our Chairman has reported, a new Pavilion will rise from the ashes. It will take time, planning and above all fundraising and wide support. For all those who have expressed their horror, we join you with similar thoughts. Please be assured we will engage with you all once a structured plan is formulated. As a club, we are immensely grateful for your outpouring of support.

Who are we?
The club is unashamedly “village” in nature.
We are a club with players ranging in age from 14 to 62, with varied abilities, but the one thing in common throughout is that we all like to have fun. We no longer play any league cricket so only play friendlies against other local sides, but they are always competitive. Periodically throughout the season, we play rambling or touring sides, to add variety, meet other clubs and new challenges. We only play limited over cricket, so we only ever win or lose, and whilst we always play to win, losing is quickly forgotten in the pub after the game. With the River Stour running alongside the ground, on hot days it is lovely for a quick dip after the match. Situated on the Suffolk side of the Suffolk/Essex border our ground is a beautiful quintessential English cricket ground with a thatched pavilion.
On special occasions, or when touring sides visit, we often make a day of it with a pre-match lunchtime barbecue to welcome our guests and to make it a memorable occasion for all.
We are always looking for new recruits, so if this sounds like the sort of cricket you would enjoy, please contact us. We would be delighted to hear from you.
